Immunoregulation and Resistance to Aquatic Pathogens with Dietary Nucleotides in Pacific White Shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei

چکیده
Using vegetable protein sources as a replacement for fish meal (FM) in the diet of Pacific white shrimp (PWS) has negative impact on their health. Acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease (AHPND), caused by Vibrio parahaemolyticus, affects PWS and causes financial losses. Nucleotides modulate immune response could contribute to counteracting these issues. Our objective was evaluate effects nucleotide supplementation performance, response, survival when challenged with V. receiving FM partially replaced sources. A feeding trial (1000 PWS; 56 days) challenge (600 10 were performed using diets different inclusion levels (26%, 23.4%, 22.1%, 20.8%), or without 0.1% nucleotides. non-challenged, non-supplemented group also used trial. Adding nucleotides reduced allowed significantly better results growth performance parameters total hemocyte count (THC). In trial, compared control, led higher THC rate 15 h post-challenge. conclusion, adding improves resistance aquatic pathogens, allowing be negatively affecting performance.

Microbiota from Litopenaeus vannamei: digestive tract microbial community of Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei)
Bacteria capable of producing different extracellular enzymes of potential relevance in digestive processes were isolated from the stomach, hepatopancreas and intestine of Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei. A total of 64 strains with proteolytic activity were isolated and grouped into 16 clusters based on morphological characteristics: 4 groups were isolated from the intestine; 5 from t...

Three different experiments were conducted to study the effect of dietary astaxanthin on the immune response, resistance to white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) and transcription of antioxidant enzyme genes in Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei. Each experiment included one triplicate treatment group (fed with 80 mg/kg astaxanthin supplemented diet) and one triplicate control group (fed with...

متن کاملGene set based association analyses for the WSSV resistance of Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei
White Spot Syndrome Virus (WSSV) is regarded as a virus with the strongest pathogenicity to shrimp. For the threshold trait such as disease resistance, marker assisted selection (MAS) was considered to be a more effective approach. In the present study, association analyses of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) located in a set of immune related genes were conducted to identify markers asso...
متن کاملDisease resistance of Pacific white shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei, following the dietary administration of a yeast culture food supplement
A yeast culture feed supplement (Diamond V XP Yeast CultureR, Diamond V Mills, Cedar Rapids, Iowa [IA]) was assessed for its impact on disease resistance in the Pacific white shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei. Animals were fed a standard shrimp pellet diet supplemented with 0% (control with 1% grain carrier), 0.5% (with 0.5% carrier), or 1.0% XP daily for 4 weeks. To assess resistance to bacterial d...
